Carbon, ceramic and nano ceramic film for Shakopee drivers, installed at our shop in Savage, about fifteen minutes down County Road 101 or 169. Lifetime warranty on the film.
Shakopee is a commuter town wearing a small town coat. A lot of people here work somewhere else and put real highway miles on every week, whether that’s 169 north into Eden Prairie and the west metro or 101 and 41 out the other way. That changes what tint is for.
When you’re sitting in a car for forty five minutes twice a day, the thing that wears on you isn’t cabin temperature, it’s sun on the side of your face. Afternoon commutes west out of the metro put the sun directly in your left window for most of the drive, and in winter it sits low enough that a visor does nothing. Ceramic film on the front two is the single most noticeable upgrade a commuter can make to a car, and it costs less than a set of tires.
The other thing about a high mileage commuter car is that the interior takes a beating from UV that nobody notices until resale. Dash tops crack, door cards fade unevenly, and leather on the driver’s side goes long before the passenger side does. 99 percent UV rejection on ceramic and nano ceramic isn’t a marketing line, it’s the reason a five year old commuter car with film still has a dash that looks fine.
There is also a large employer footprint here, which means a lot of cars sitting in open lots all day rather than a garage. Eight hours in an unshaded lot in July is the same problem a boat launch creates, just on a weekday.
Three things film is genuinely good for, and why they matter here.
Forty five minutes with the sun in your left window is the Shakopee afternoon. Ceramic on the front two is the cheapest meaningful upgrade a commuter car can get.
Dash cracking and uneven fading on the driver’s side is a UV problem, and it shows up at trade in. 99 percent UV rejection is what stops it.
Open employer lots do the same thing to a car that a boat launch does, just five days a week instead of on Saturdays. Heat rejection is the fix.
Same pricing for every city we serve, no travel markup. Pick the film, then how many windows.
The look, at the best price. Deep black, color stable, won’t fade purple on you. Least heat rejection of the three, so this one is about appearance and privacy.
This is where you feel the difference. Real heat rejection on a hot day, strong UV protection, and no interference with your phone or GPS. Even in a lighter shade it outperforms a cheap dark film.
The best film we carry. Highest heat rejection, best UV protection, and the clearest view of the three. If you’re keeping the car a while, this is the one.
Full car pricing already includes the front two, it isn’t an add on.
The windshield is priced separately from the full car. Removal is $25 per window, $50 for the rear glass or windshield. Single window? Call or text for a price.

We are at 5505 W 123rd St, STE 296 in Savage. From Shakopee it is about fifteen minutes, either across on County Road 101 and up 13, or out 169 and over on 42 depending on which side of town you’re starting from. From the east end near the river it’s closer to twelve.
Tint is drop off only, at the shop, indoors. Front two takes about an hour and a half to two hours, a full car about four. Shakopee customers usually drop off in the morning on the way to work and grab it after, which works well since we’re open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm.
If you’re already making the drive it’s worth asking about stacking services. A ceramic coating is also a drop off, so tint and coating on the same visit saves you a second trip across the river. Detailing is mobile, so that one we can just bring to you in Shakopee instead.
Minnesota Statute 169.71 sets the floor at 50 percent VLT on side and rear windows, with a three percent tolerance. VLT is how much light gets through, so a lower number means darker film. Separately, film can’t be more than 20 percent reflective, and mirrored or chrome looking film isn’t allowed on any window.
The statute exempts the rear windows of a pickup truck, and on a van the rear windows plus the side windows behind the driver. Those can go darker. The front two are held to 50 percent on every vehicle, with no exception. Sport utility vehicles aren’t named in that exemption, so where yours falls depends on how it’s classified.
Shakopee is the Scott County seat, and the same state statute applies here as everywhere else. It’s worth knowing where the limits sit before you pick a shade rather than after. There’s a full breakdown, including the exemptions and how VLT is measured, on our Minnesota window tint laws page.
