Carbon, ceramic and nano ceramic film for Lakeville drivers, installed at our shop in Savage, about twenty minutes up County Road 42 or 35W. Lifetime warranty on the film.
Lakeville runs newer and more spread out than the rest of the South Metro, and the vehicle mix reflects it. Three row SUVs, minivans, crew cab trucks. Family haulers with car seats in them, parked in driveways of newer builds where the trees haven’t grown in enough to shade anything yet.
That combination matters for tint in a specific way. A third row is the hottest seat in any vehicle, because it sits under more glass and further from the vents than anything else in the car. If you have kids back there in July, the rear windows aren’t a cosmetic decision. Ceramic or nano ceramic on the rear glass is the difference between the back of the vehicle being usable on a hot day and the AC fighting a losing battle the whole drive.
The good news for Lakeville is that a lot of these vehicles qualify for the rear exemption. Minnesota’s statute names the rear windows of a pickup truck, and on a van the rear windows plus the side windows behind the driver. Those are allowed to go darker than 50 percent. Sport utility vehicles aren’t specifically named, so where a three row SUV lands depends on how it’s classified, and that’s worth sorting out before you commit to a shade rather than after.
The other Lakeville reality is that these are often long term vehicles. People here tend to keep a family hauler for years rather than churning leases. That shifts the math toward nano ceramic, because the extra cost spreads over a much longer ownership window and the interior protection pays off at resale.
Three things film is genuinely good for, and why they matter here.
More glass overhead, further from the vents. If you have kids back there in July, rear window film isn’t cosmetic, it’s the difference between usable and not.
The statute names the rear of a pickup and the rear plus behind driver side windows of a van. Worth sorting out what your vehicle is classified as before you pick a shade.
Family haulers here stay in the family for years. That pushes the math toward nano ceramic, since the cost spreads out and the UV protection shows up at resale.
Same pricing for every city we serve, no travel markup. Pick the film, then how many windows.
The look, at the best price. Deep black, color stable, won’t fade purple on you. Least heat rejection of the three, so this one is about appearance and privacy.
This is where you feel the difference. Real heat rejection on a hot day, strong UV protection, and no interference with your phone or GPS. Even in a lighter shade it outperforms a cheap dark film.
The best film we carry. Highest heat rejection, best UV protection, and the clearest view of the three. If you’re keeping the car a while, this is the one.
Full car pricing already includes the front two, it isn’t an add on.
The windshield is priced separately from the full car. Removal is $25 per window, $50 for the rear glass or windshield. Single window? Call or text for a price.

We are at 5505 W 123rd St, STE 296 in Savage. From Lakeville it is about twenty minutes, either straight across on County Road 42 or up 35W and west, depending on where in town you’re starting. From the north end it’s closer to fifteen, from down by Airlake allow twenty five.
That’s the longest drive of any city on our list, so it’s worth planning the trip properly. Tint is drop off only and a full car takes about four hours, front two about an hour and a half to two. Most Lakeville customers drop in the morning and pick up in the afternoon rather than waiting around.
Because you’re making a longer drive, stacking services makes more sense here than anywhere else we serve. Tint and ceramic coating are both drop off, so doing them on one visit is one trip instead of two. And since detailing is mobile, we can handle the interior at your place in Lakeville separately, which means the only thing you have to drive up for is the glass and the paint work.
Minnesota Statute 169.71 sets the floor at 50 percent VLT on side and rear windows, with a three percent tolerance. VLT is how much light gets through, so a lower number means darker film. Separately, film can’t be more than 20 percent reflective, and mirrored or chrome looking film isn’t allowed on any window.
The statute exempts the rear windows of a pickup truck, and on a van the rear windows plus the side windows behind the driver. Those can go darker. The front two are held to 50 percent on every vehicle, with no exception. Sport utility vehicles aren’t named in that exemption, so where yours falls depends on how it’s classified.
Lakeville is in Dakota County, and the limits are set at the state level so they’re the same here. It’s worth knowing where the limits sit before you pick a shade rather than after. There’s a full breakdown, including the exemptions and how VLT is measured, on our Minnesota window tint laws page.
